Event Details

Greetings:

We are excited to invite you to our BDPA New York Chapter Scholarship & Awards Dinner, to be held on Wednesday, November 10, 2010 at 5:30pm, at National Grid, One MetroTech Center, Brooklyn, NY.  We would be honored to have you join us for this event, and would appreciate your support in making this a success, by purchasing individual tickets and/or placing an ad in our journal.

The purpose of the dinner is to recognize the outstanding contributions of BDPA New York’s 2010 community supporters and corporate sponsors as well as award college scholarships to our students, who are members of BDPA’s Student Information Technology Education Scholarship (SITES) program.  The SITES program affords students the opportunity to get hands-on computer and web development training, exposure to various careers in Information Technology and develop professional and interpersonal skills (i.e. business etiquette skills, resume writing and team building).   This program is designed to develop the next generation of IT Professionals, and encourage African American youths to explore careers in such traditionally underrepresented fields as Computer Science and Information Technology.

Our keynote address will be delivered by New York State CIO, Melodie Mayberry-Stewart, who was recently named one of the Top 50 African-Americans in IT.  In addition, we will announce the Roger Dunn Memorial Scholarship and the Renee McClure Scholarship Awards, which will be awarded to BDPA SITES students who have demonstrated strong excellent leaderships skills.

Tickets are $50 dollars each for adults and students, and business attire is required.   For over 25 years, the New York Chapter has invested over $50,000 into scholarships to encourage students to seek higher education and explore technology fields. Your ticket purchase will not only contribute to our scholarship funds, but will also help sustain our SITES program.

You may also consider  placing an ad in our 2010 journal. The journal ad pricing is as follows:
  • Full Page (5” x 7.75”) 75.00
  • Half Page (5” x 3.875”) 50.00
  • Quarter Page/Business Card (2.5” x 3.875”) 30.00
Copy Ready Ads must be 300 dpi or better and can be emailed to
comm@bdpa-ny.org. Journal Ad payments can be mailed to BDPA NY Chapter, PO BOX 808, Murray Hill Station, New York, NY 10156 or made via our Eventbrite page. All payments and journal ad submissions are due by October 31, 2010.

Again, thank you and we look forward to your support! If you have questions, please contact Roxanne Clinton via phone at (212) 802-5341 or via email at hr@bdpa-ny.org.
